What are the benefits of oxygen?
oxygen is the most needed compound in the human body. the human body
can live weeks without food, days without water, but only minutes
without oxygen. oxygen helps keep our blood flowing, our bodies
functioning properly, and aids in helping to fight infections and
rid the body of toxins. oxygen acts as a vehicle and carries
important ingredients with it, such as Vitamins C & E, as well
as Vitamins A & D. oxygen is also an effective treatment
against acne and acne-prone skin types.
Doesn't oxygen cause free radicals?
oxidative reactions continuously take place during normal cellular metabolism.
a secondary effect of these reactions are free radicals. free radicals
are a fact of life. life as we know it, could not exist without free
radicals. free radicals come from two major sources: (a) endogenous,
and (b) exogenous. endogenous free radicals are produced in the body.
exogenous sources include air pollution, of which industrial
waste and cigarette smoke are the major contributors. there are many
kinds of free radicals, the majority of them not coming from
oxygen. oxygen free radicals are highly reactive, short-lived, and
well-controlled. they are actually beneficial because they work as
part of the white blood cell's defenses against infection and injury.
medical researchers are just beginning to unravel these complex dynamics.
Do your products have something
that retards free radicals to slow down aging?
under normal conditions, the damaging actions of free radicals are
minimized by the abundant protective and repair mechanisms that normal
cells possess. oxygen actually helps speed up their effective removal.
there are many free radical scavengers, but Vitamin C and E are the
most effective. many people feel that oxygen is one of the most powerful
antioxidants that works to stop the damage caused by “unhealthy” free
radicals.
Does oxygen slow down aging?
anti-aging
literature is filled with studies that support the benefits
of oxygen therapy. most bacteria, viruses, and diseases find
it very difficult to live and survive in an oxygen rich environment.
there is also a lot of data out there supporting the rejuvenative
effects of oxygen especially on the skin. the facts are that
if our skin can be exposed to more oxygen, our skin cells will
reproduce and grow healthier, which will enable our skin to
become stronger and stay stronger.
Does oxygen prevent aging?
every
cell of the body needs oxygen to function properly because of its
cleansing and nutrient properties. as we age, our cells do not
receive the same amount of oxygen as they did when we were younger.
we need oxygen to combat the toxins and disease-causing pollutants
we are exposed to every day and to help remove them from our bodies.
without the right amount of oxygen, not only will we be more exposed
to premature aging, but other problems will also arise such as skin
fragility, decreased cellular turnover, decreased hydration, poor
circulation, and extreme skin cell fatigue.
Is
there really liquid oxygen in neaclear® and
neaclearplus™
products?
neaclear® and neaclearplus™
skin care products all have oxygen in them. the oxygenation
procedure is a special four step process that enables us to place
oxygen into a stable liquid form. liquid oxygen normally exists only at the extremely low temperature
of -183 degrees Celsius under normal atmospheric pressure. liquid oxygen in its
purest form is rocket fuel and is highly combustible. no, we do not have rocket fuel (pure liquid oxygen) in our products.
please realize the oxygen concentration in our skin care products is not
a large amount - definitely less than 5%. regardless, we always recommend not placing these products close to
any sources of fire or anything flammable (a good piece of advice
with any skin care products).
Are there any special precautions for using
neaclearplus™
?
no. we do suggest that you follow the directions on the box
and see your physician prior to beginning use of any products
from our neaclearplus™
line.
the neaclearplus™
line is very high
end and should only be sold through a physician’s office or
medical spa where a physician or well-trained aestheticians
are on staff. a physician or skin care specialist can
help design the appropriate skin care program to fit individual
needs.
Why should I use neaclear® oxygen products over other skin care products?
neaclear®
and neaclearplus™
were created by
a board certified plastic surgeon, working with a team of biochemists.
the formula and technique took over two years to finalize.
neaclear®
feels we have created
the best current process to infuse oxygen and vitamins for anti-aging
and prevention products. these products were created for use
by all skin types and are all-natural, fragrance-free, non-comedogenic,
and even work well with sensitive skin types.
neaclear®
or neaclearplus™
products with other skin care lines?
yes, but for optimal results you should use the entire neaclear®
line. when mixing different skin care lines (depending on the strength and quality of the other products), they can interfere with
the neaclear® product's results. other products may also interfere with
the active ingredients, especially with the neaclearplus™
products. just remember that neaclear®
and neaclearplus™
products are meant to be used in conjunction with each other for best results.
When can I expect to see final results?
your skin will most likely become softer and smoother within a few
days. improvement will continue with prolonged use. by six weeks (the
length of one skin cycle), you should begin to see and feel visible
progress, depending on the condition of your skin prior to use. the
look of fine lines will diminish and the overall tone and texture
of your skin will become more even. the final result is usually achieved
within 3 - 4 skin cycles or 18 - 24 weeks. additionally, peels,
microdermabrasion, and laser rejuvenation by a physician can hasten
the desired results.
How does
oxygen benefit acne-prone skin?
oxygen helps to heal acne and acne-prone
skin types by reducing the number of acne-producing bacteria on the skin’s surface. oxygen helps to stimulate cellular growth, thus
decreasing the production of active bacteria and minimizing sebaceous gland overproduction. oxygen decreases redness, inflammation, and
irritation on the skin's surface. oxygen can also help accelerate the healing process in acne patients.
What is
the difference between your acne cleanser and acne wash?
the difference in the two is the active
ingredient used. in the acne cleanser, benzoyl peroxide is the
main ingredient, which is used for the treatment of mild acne. benzoyl peroxide is safe for both adults and children and this product
can be used during pregnancy. in the acne wash, salicylic acid
(beta-hydroxy acid) is the main ingredient, which is used for more
severe to cystic acne patients. salicylic acid helps to slow
the process of exfoliation inside the pore, which helps to control
clogged skin and blackhead formation. your physician or skin
care specialist will determine which one to start you on and the frequency
of use depending on your specific acne condition.
Why are some neaclear®
products sold over the counter and some can
only be obtained from a physician?
neaclearplus™
products
sold in a physician’s office have a higher strength and are intended
for certain skin types. most products contain higher levels
of certain ingredients such as hydroquinone, tretinoin (Retin-A),
alpha-, and beta-hydroxy acids. these products are intended
to be used under a physician’s care and should be monitored by follow-up
appointments and regular check-ups to ensure there are no complications
or reactions to the products.
Do
neaclear® products penetrate through the top layer of skin (the epidermis)?
yes. our products help to protect
the skin, provide nutrients, and minimize signs of aging. oxygen
helps improve blood flow so the product’s penetration is maximal.
our products also help the skin maintain hydration longer than most
other skin care products.
What’s
the difference between alpha- and beta-hydroxy acids?
the biggest difference between the
two hydroxyl acids is their lipid (oil) solubility. alpha-hydroxy
acids (AHAs) are water soluble and beta-hydroxy acids (BHAs) are oil
soluble. BHAs are able to penetrate deeper into the pore, which
contains sebum and helps to control exfoliation of the dead skin cells
that build up inside the pore. salicylic acid is the only BHA
known for the treatment of acne and acne-prone skin types. AHAs
mostly come from fruit acids (such as lemons, grapes, oranges, sugar
cane, and sour milk). there are different types of AHAs, the
most common being glycolic acid which comes from sugar cane.
glycolic acid cannot be tolerated by all skin types because it is
the most unstable of the AHAs. other common AHAs include lactic
acid (sour milk), L-ascorbic acid (oranges), and malic acid (apples).
Is skin tingling normal when using
an AHA product?
yes. a small amount of tingling is normal when AHA products are first applied.
it should subside within a few seconds. if the tingling is uncomfortable, wait
15–30 minutes after cleansing before applying another product. if redness or
irritation persist, stop using the product and contact your physician.
Does AHA cause sun sensitivity?
yes, possibly
it can. we always recommend that patients use
neaclear®
products in conjunction with sunscreen.
Do I still need
to use sun block even in the winter?
this
is a very popular question. yes, wearing sun block daily is
one of the best anti-aging remedies ever studied. sun
block helps to protect your skin from the damage that is attacking
it daily. sun blocks are also now being proven to help reverse
signs of aging.
Can
I use neaclearplus™
with other prescription skin care products?
we suggest that you
see your physician before mixing with other prescription skin care
products. some skin care products do have small amounts of alpha-
or beta-hydroxy acids, vitamin A, or hydroquinone and could cause
a skin reaction. all neaclear® products list the active ingredients and
when using prescription skin care products, your physician will be
able to guide you in the right direction.
Why does Tretinoin or Retin-A (retinoic acid) have many different names?
tretinoin
is an analogue of Vitamin A. it needs to be prescribed by a
physician. Retin-A is the trade name and Tretinoin is the generic
name. the generic form or tretinoin can be made by any pharmacy
and is usually pretty inexpensive. tretinoin comes in many different
strengths and consistencies to use on the skin and can treat
both acne, wrinkles, and sun-damaged skin. the most common
dosages are 0.025%, 0.05% and 0.1%. this product should be used
under the supervision of a physician since it can have some
side effects. micronized Retin-A is another popular acne treatment
because it uses tretinoin in a patented micro sphere that delivers
the cream throughout the day in low levels. by doing this
there is less risk of irritation and redness. Renova (the trade
name of one of the most commonly used forms of Retin-A) is best
for the treatment of fine lines and wrinkles. Renova can
be used in either 0.02% which contains tretinoin in oil-in-water
or 0.05% which contains tretinoin in water-to-oil.
What can
I do about my sun-damaged skin?
first,
a complete skin evaluation from your physician is important
to check for skin cancer. then choose a neaclear®
or neaclearplus™
regimen
that’s right for your skin type. adding vitamins C and E to
your daily intake will help as will proper nutrition, quality
sleep, and regular exercise. it is never too late to fight back!
How
do neaclear®products
help with pigmentation?
within our neaclearplus™ line,
we have created two products with hydroquinone, which help to peel
the skin and address excess pigmentation. after a few months
of a persistent skin care regimen (including a hydroquinone product)
and follow-up appointments with your physician or aesthetician, dramatic
results are typically noticed. these products are usually only
sold through a physician’s office.
What is
the difference between facial exfoliant and facial pigment control?
they
both contain hydroquinone, which needs to be used under the
direction of your physician and can cause some sensitivity and
flakiness. note: both products must be used in conjunction
with a sun block because of the increased sun sensitivity factor.
the facial exfoliant is designed for all skin types with mild
pigment problems and designed for those who are looking for
an even appearance to the skin. this product contains 3% hydroquinone,
as well as alpha-hydroxy acids for exfoliation. the facial pigment
control is designed for those who have more severe pigmentation
and looking to even out the skin. the facial pigment control
contains 4% hydroquinone.
What is the difference between neaclear® liquid
hand soap and an antibacterial liquid soap?
remember, your
skin generally coexists with the normal bacterial flora on it's
surface. they both need each other. It is what nature intended.
the main difference between the soaps is that antibacterial
soaps contain slightly more ingredients for controlling germs.
washing with plain soap also removes germs. you must remember
that it is normal to have bacteria on your skin all over your
body. only when the count becomes too high or the bacteria grow
uncontrollably is this a problem. the trend towards antibacterial
soaps is coming to an end as the medical literature has now
pointed out in many studies that this can actually be detrimental
since it selects out super bacteria and ruins the normal flora
of bacteria on your skin. check out a great study at
How effective are antiseptic soaps?
Should I be worried about the
oxygen in neaclear®
or neaclearplus™
products catching on fire?
neaclear® and neaclearplus™ products
all have oxygen in them. that is what makes them so special. in our
product research and development and stability testing we have never
encountered this problem. we always recommend, however, not placing
these products close to any sources of fire or anything flammable
(a good piece of advice with any skin care products).
What can
neaclear®
or
neaclearplus™
do for me?
neaclear®
and neaclearplus™
regimens contain
alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) to normalize the exfoliation process
and increase hydration of your skin. exfoliation and maintaining
hydration generally slows down with age and sun exposure. as
the dry outer layer is exfoliated by AHA, younger, healthier,
smoother-looking skin is revealed. if AHA products are sensitive
for your skin, neaclear® also
makes glycolic-free products, specially formulated for magnificent
results.
Why is it more expensive to purchase
skin care products from a physician?
neaclearplus™
is an exclusive and very high-end skin care line. when you get these products from a physician, you get skin care products that are exactly right for your skin care needs and conditions with the outcome you expect. in the long run, it is actually a better value since you
receive only what you need with the confidence that a physician understands your particular skin care needs.
What is the shelf life of your products?
all of our products are tested for a shelf life of two years from the date of
manufacture. however, we only recommend using the product within one year of
opening it to guarantee freshness and efficacy.
Can I
use neaclear®
products during my pregnancy?
some neaclear®
products can be used during pregnancy. any products that contain
hydroquinone, alpha-hydroxy acids, salicylic acid, or Retin-A can
get into the bloodstream and can possibly cause some damage to the
fetus. therefore, we cannot recommend the use of these
products during pregnancy. we also recommend avoiding these
products throughout the course of breastfeeding because of the risk
of slowing down development in your newborn.
